Consistency Is Key

On today’s Podcast,  we’ll be covering consistency – so stay tuned.

If you’re a seasoned Podcast Listener – this podcast is going to be different from most you listen to. It’s based around exactly what the name implies – Warehouse Safety Tips. And since the people in that industry are busy – we know time is money, so each episode will be as short and to the point as possible.

And now that all that is out of the way – let’s get to the Podcast!

On one of our previous Podcasts, we spoke about the pros and cons of consistency.
If you’re wondering what a con could possibly be – think of procrastination.  If you’re constantly putting things off – that’s using consistency as a disadvantage.
In following the 5S Methodology – obeying disadvantages goes directly against the first “S”, Sort.  Within the 5S Methodology, sorting is eliminating all of the unnecessary items from a work area.  In this case, the unnecessary items being removed from the work area are disadvantages.
It should come as no surprise that the last “S” of the 5S Methodology is Sustain.
Let’s look at these words.
Consistency is conformity in the application of something.
Sustaining is to keep up or keep going.
Aren’t consistency and sustaining almost one and the same?
If you’re on the path of constant and never-ending improvement at your facility – obey those two words in an advantageous manner, and you’ll be well on your way to success.

Before moving on – here’s a word from one of our sponsors.

If you’ve ever been to or worked in a warehouse – you know just how important safety is to both management and staff. It’s almost impossible to go 10 steps without seeing Safety Tape, Angles, Signs, and/or products.
