Greetings, everyone! Welcome to another exciting edition of Mighty Line Minute. Today, we're diving into the world of innovation, but with a nostalgic twist. When we think of innovation, we often picture cutting-edge technology or futuristic products. However, innovation isn't always about the new; it can also be about reimagining the past. Some ideas are so brilliant they withstand the test of time and continue to inspire new generations.
Let's take a journey back to 1933, when Clevelanders Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster created the iconic Super man. Initially sold to Detective Comics (now DC Comics) for just $130, DC's Superman has become a timeless symbol of heroism. Fast forward to today, and Cleveland is once again buzzing with excitement as a new Superman reboot film, directed by James Gunn, is being filmed right here, bringing exciting superman movie news.
We're on the ground in Cleveland, soaking in the sights and sounds of this major film production. Keep your eyes on the sky—you never know what might be flying overhead, like a Superman helicopter scene or Superman taking off!
Our adventure begins in a little-known garage where the movie production crew is hard at work. We're keeping things hush-hush here—exclusive access for the film crew only. It's thrilling to be behind the scenes of a project this monumental.
This latest Superman filming location is a DC Studios production, set to be released by Warner Brothers in July 2025. James Gunn, both writer and director, brings a fresh vision to the legendary story, different from the 1980s version. The film stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, with Superman portrayed as a 25-year-old.
Filming in Cleveland kicked off in February in the stunning landscapes of Svalbard, Norway. Now, for 37 days, Cleveland and Cincinnati, Ohio, are the focal points, despite unpredictable Cleveland weather. The final stages of filming and production will take place in Atlanta and Macon, Georgia.
Our first stop: Public Square. The production crew has been transforming this iconic location for the film as part of the Cleveland transformation into Metropolis. From the majestic fountains to the Daily Planet building, it's all coming to life. I even grabbed a copy of the Daily Planet newspaper—why not immerse ourselves fully in the experience? Next, we find ourselves at the Metropolis Museum of Modern Art, an area buzzing with activity as the crew prepares for more scenes. The Old Arcade is also undergoing a transformation, hinting at more exciting scenes to come.
Driving over the Detroit-Superior Bridge (also known as the Veterans Memorial Bridge), we reflect on its historical significance. This area has seen extensive Superman filming Cleveland, and many scenes will feature this Cleveland iconic locations.
We caught a glimpse of some high-flying stunts and Superman shooting through coverage.
The Greater Cleveland Film Commission has been instrumental in bringing this production to Northeast Ohio. Cleveland City Hall and Mayor Justin Bibb have been very supportive, offering tax credits and assistance with road closures and traffic patterns around downtown Cleveland.

Man of Steel: The Legend that Began in Cleveland
In the world of superheroes, few names hold as much weight and recognition as Super man. This iconic character, with his signature blue suit, red cape, and the famous “S” emblem on his chest, has become a symbol of justice, strength, and hope for millions around the world. Yet, many may not realize that the origins of this legendary figure trace back to Cleveland, Ohio.
The story begins in the early 1930s, during the Great Depression, when two high school friends, Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, were inspired to create a new kind of hero. Both sons of Jewish immigrants, Siegel, the writer, and Shuster, the artist, shared a passion for science fiction and comic strips. In 1933, they conceptualized Super man, a character unlike any other: an alien from the planet Krypton who possesses extraordinary powers and chooses to use them for the good of humanity.
The creation of Man of Steel was no small feat. Siegel and Shuster worked tirelessly, often facing rejection from publishers who couldn’t see the potential in their creation. It wasn’t until 1938 that Man of Steel finally made his debut in Action Comics #1, published by Detective Comics, Inc., which would later become DC Comics.
