On today’s episode, we’re going to be covering AGV Safety.
In one of our previous episodes, we spoke about never assuming when it comes to safety. If you work in a facility that contains AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles), this is especially true.
AGVs follow either a guided wire placed in the ground or tape to do automated tasks. In addition to following a specific path, these AGV’s also have sensors that detect items in their path. When this occurs, they’re supposed to give an audible warning and/or stop. But, as with everything, things don’t always go as planned. Keeping in mind that you should always assume all vehicles cannot see you, these AGV’s are no different. Be sure to stay clear of the paths these AGV’s travel on – and if you do have to work in their path, watch and listen for them.
